Who we are looking for
Prime Fix 24/7 runs plumbing, electrical, locksmith, glazing and roofing services across Manchester from one depot. We are growing each trade, and we are always interested in hearing from good engineers, even when we are not advertising a specific role.
We recruit plumbers, including Gas Safe registered engineers; electricians qualified to the current wiring regulations, ideally with inspection and testing; locksmiths with experience of uPVC multipoint systems and non-destructive entry; glaziers comfortable with both sealed unit replacement and emergency work; and roofers with pitched and flat roof experience. We also take on apprentices in each trade when we can offer proper supervision.
What we expect
You will be qualified in your trade and able to show it. You will be DBS checked before your first job and rechecked periodically; we tell customers this, so it is not negotiable. You will hold a full driving licence. You will be comfortable explaining what is wrong to a customer who is worried, and telling them the price before you start.
Emergency work is part of most roles, on a rota. We are honest about what that involves: some nights and weekends, paid at a rate that reflects it, and never more than we have agreed with you. Nobody is expected to be on call permanently.
We do not expect you to work outside your trade. Plumbers do not touch electrics here, and we would be worried if you wanted to.
How we work
Engineers have a marked van, a uniform, the tools and the stock to do the job in one visit where possible, and an office that handles dispatch, quotes and invoicing so that you can concentrate on the work. Every engineer is named on the website with their qualifications, and reviews name you as well as the customer. Good work is visible, and so is careless work.
