Worsley's conservation village, with its mock-Tudor cottages around the green and the Delph, sits alongside newer estates built out towards Boothstown and the motorway. The older cottages often have narrow, awkwardly routed pipework fitted to buildings that were never designed with modern bathrooms in mind, and proximity to the Bridgewater Canal means damp and drainage issues in some of the lower-lying properties need checking carefully before assuming a straightforward leak. The newer estates are a different job entirely — standard combi systems, usually still under 15 years old, where faults tend to be component failures rather than anything structural.
